Kevin's Hot Takes
Week 9
Election Week
Wow what an election. More importantly, we had some crazy performances last week in fantasy. What a game from Mike Evans. Jimmy (or Jeremy) Graham caught two touchdowns with one hand and turned in his ballot with the other. Check the highlights. Melvin Gordon ran the ball straight to his local voting booth, putting up 30+ in PPR formats on his way there. Sadly, I had Donald Trump on my bench and missed out on his historical performance on election night. But most importantly, the Packers lost, and Golden Tate stiff-armed Harrison Smith into oblivion, leading the Lions to a historical victory.
Although it definitely would’ve been easy to put Jim Bob Cooter or Matthew Stafford on the ballot to run away with the presidency, America decided to take the difficult route and throw Clinton and Trump on there. Picture Jim Bob Cooter, Lions offensive coordinator, in the White House. Not only would the United States have a lethal offense, but our two-minute drill would be second to none. ISIS would not have the secondary to slow us down, we would easily put up 500 yards of total offense on them. No worries though, we still have fantasy football.
That being said, I ask you, my fellow fantasy owners to remember to focus on what really matters. With the Elite Eight playoff race heating up, we mustn’t lose focus due to a new president entering the oval office. As far as I’m concerned, Roger Goodell is still in office, the Lions are 2nd in the NFC North, this league is still running full throttle, and we have an Elite Eight championship to be won. Whatever direction you want your team to go, YOU decide. It’s the beauty of playing in a democratic league. After all, fantasy football is, and always will be great. No president will ever take that from us (or have to make it great again).
Thank you,
Kevin
