Week 10
I Actually Don’t Hate Fantasy Football, It’s Offensive
When you say “I hate fantasy” do you really know what you’re saying? Think about it. This week I started telling some people that I hate fantasy football. In all reality, deep down, I have a burning passion for this game. Maybe we need to think twice before saying “I hate fantasy." In this day and age, somebody could easily get offended. It’s not politically correct to say it anymore.
This past week was crazy, Sexual Misconduct had 205 points. Congratulations P. Demarco Murray threw a touchdown to Delaney Walker. It was like magic. Some compared it to Devin playing on Brewster hoops. So fun to watch. Antonio Brown and Jordy Nelson combined for 26 receptions. That’s it? It was one of those weeks where the team could do no wrong. I have felt that feeling before. Last year I was mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. My team went on to score 189 points in one week. Definitely not quite as impressive as 205, but at least I set my lineup that week. My parents were so proud that their son could put up 189 in one week.
I come into week 11 sitting at seven wins and three losses. That’s top 3 in the league. But looking at my team, I can’t help but notice, I think I have the second best team on paper. I know this may come as a shock to some of you, as previous years have caused me to cry and complain over how great my teams were, just to miss the playoffs or lose to a cinderella story in the championship (see 2014 playoff results). But this is a new me, new Kevin. Until PJ’s team stops scoring 205, I am fine with being the Second Best Team On Paper.
Anyone remember when I had Keenan Allen week 1? It was nice when I didn’t have problems at receiver in a PPR league. That’s all for this paragraph he had 6 receptions in one half okay sorry.
Before we finish up, let’s dig deep. Why am I not the Best Team on Paper right now? Here’s a couple likely causes:
Those are really the only reasons I can think of. So until I improve my hypothetical defense or I somehow grow a top 10 receiver on a (Crab)tree, I might just be stuck as the Second Best Team on Paper.
Thank you,
Kevin

Before we finish up, let’s dig deep. Why am I not the Best Team on Paper right now? Here’s a couple likely causes:
- I did not draft two top 3 running backs at picks 65 and 81. Instead, I drafted two top 5 running backs at picks 8 and 9.
- I have most points against. My defense can't stop a nose bleed.
- Eight team league - everyone is stacked.
- There is a higher power… this one may be a stretch, but possible. Many people have strong beliefs in Fantasy Football Gods.
Those are really the only reasons I can think of. So until I improve my hypothetical defense or I somehow grow a top 10 receiver on a (Crab)tree, I might just be stuck as the Second Best Team on Paper.
Thank you,
Kevin
