This team has shown that it not only had a great start to the season with a 5-2 record, but has the best upside looking forward as well. I mean even with Devante Adams on his bench right now with a lingering injury, he is projected to lead the league in points this week. Basically his worst starter would be Diggs as of right now. Diggs could be other teams’ best receiver at this point. I see this team dominating the future.
2. Aw, Fuck
Basically Mccafery would make any team a contender, and with kyle, he has other players to help as well. This dude CMC is breaking records out here and won’t be stopped moving forward. The 2 disappointments for him have been juju and gordon. both are honestly fringe WR and RB 2’a right now, but you have to play them. Aside from that, kyle ranks first in total points. This team just seems to get it done week after week and I have no reason not to expect anything else moving forward.
3. 1ce
Team 1ce is currently battling some injuries that could put him in a tough spot for the next couple of week. Mahomes and David Johnson are hurt and Cooper is our this week. So he’s going without his 1st, 3rd, and 4th round picks. However, once this team is healthy, it could be the best in the league. I think 1ce just needs to hang on until the playoffs and then he could be considered a real contender, or even a favorite.
4. BTOP
This team is actually looking pretty good right now and definitely has improved week by week. He’s definitely got the lucky end of the stick with having one of the easier schedules in the league thus far with teams averaging 110 points per week against him. My one big issue with this team is consistency. Freeman is wildly inconsistent, Henry is injury prone but time, and charm is TD reliant. Montgomery panned our to be a bust but Michel is becoming a top option in new england. Also, this team has the best receiving core in the league right now with the number 1, 3, and 5 receivers, instantly making him a contending team.
5. Bernie Brigade
Even with the best record in the league, Bernie is sitting in the middle of the pack in this weeks rankings. I credit this 6-1 start more heavily toward his points against than I do towards his points for. It’s not his fault, but I think almost every team (including Duke at 0-7) would have a 6-1 record at this point as well will that schedule. That’s actually probably the most valid example of whether fantasy is skill or luck - you can credit some skill based on doing well during he season, but the luck comes based on your schedule. Basically if this team flipped schedules with the most points against, he would be a 2 win team. Fantasy chooses a team or 2 like this every year, they just need to take advantage.
6. The O
This team is sitting nice at 5-2 and remains in the middle of the pack in terms of scoring. Fully healthy, this team is legit. But that’s the big problem - there isnt too much depth, so any injury could be big. Essentially he has a solid guy at each position, but no absolute stud, which is usually uncommon among contending teams. I am very curious to see what this team looks like once Thielen heals up and Dak is off of his bye. Is the Dak attack back? Only time will tell.
7. Risk it all Rittner
ROR has had an up and down year and now has a good idea of what his guys are looking like now. OBJ has been disappointing but he’s been able to fill some gaps with Hooper, sutton and boyd proving to be pretty solid. He also has some good under the radar players in Coleman and Jones leading his backfield. Overall, ROR has a good, but not great team this year. Hes not out of contention but he’s definitely not a favorite right now. If he can squeeze a spot in the playoffs, he has the same chance as everyone else.
8. - Duke -
Like I said early, fantasy always chooses a team or 2 to dump either all of the points on, or none of them. This year, Duke has gotten the butt-end of that stick. Teams average 154 points against him this year (more than 13 PPG more than the next most points against) while he ranks 4th in points (127 PPG) and sits winless through 7 weeks. However, nothing is fully blamed on the opposing teams. He scores when it doesn’t matter and he doesn’t score when it does. And now with Keryon out (like it matters anyways) he is looking at a downwards slope.
9. Chief Keef
Jordan is NOT the worst team in the league! But let’s not get too excited. This team averages 105 points per game, which won’t really get you anywhere in this league. At 1-6, Jordan would have to win out for any chance at the playoffs. And even then, he might have to win a tiebreaker depending on how the season goes. He’s almost a lock for the lower bracket now and should plan accordingly.
10. The Beef
What is to be said about this team that hasn’t been said already? Well he actually LEAD the league in points this week.. with 125. A very low scoring week, but still. Coburn is actually last in points averaging right around 100 PPG, but still has 3 wins somehow. With Kamara back in his lineup, he is looking better for sure, but you can’t have the FLEX options he does and expect to win many games. Coburn’s playoff hopes are slim because of his very low chance at winning a tiebreaker, but there’s some hope still I guess.
